“Bach's Fugues meet the 21st Century”
Bach Fugues Reinmagined:
Bach wrote 96 Preludes and Fugues in all 24 major and minor keys to prove to the world that it was possible. We still use the tempered tuning that he was advocating for today. These were all great pieces of music from one of the greatest composers of all time.
I feel the fugues are under appreciated. They are musical compositions with 3, 4 or 5 distinct melodies that are interwoven into a complex tapestry of sound, held together by rules for their composition. They represent some of the most masterful music composition ever endeavored!
Being keyboard pieces, sometimes it's difficult when listening to keep track of the different voices. That's why I have rearranged the fugues with different timbres on each voice, so the amazing interweaving of parts can be more easily perceived.
And to add a contemporary vibe, I've added subtle percussion tracks. As you can see, this is a work in progress. I intend to do all 48 fugues from Book ! and Book 2
